WWW Wednesday ~ 18.12.2019

Hey guys ! It’s been a while since the last WWW Wednesday I did (Over a month….) ! Here is a little update about what I’ve been reading this week 😀 If you have never heard about this tag, here are the basics about it ! WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Taking on a World of Words in which you only have to answer three questions :

What are you currently reading?
What did you recently finish reading?
What do you think you’ll read next?

Now that everything is clear, here we go for my WWW Wednesday of the week !

What are you currently reading?

Tigers, not daughters is an e-arc I got from Netgalley. We have four very close sisters, living with their not so great dad. When the eldest dies from falling out of her window, everyone is grieving. However, the three remaining sisters encounter strange phenomenons and start thinking their sister might be trying to communicate with them. It deals with magical realism, the importance of family and many other topics I have yet to read aboout ! It’s really captivating so far, and I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a hit when it releases next year !

What did you recently finish reading?

I expected a lot from They both die at the end, and I was thoroughly disappointed. I knew I was kind of done with YA contemporaries, but I thought this one might make the cut, with the topic of death and inner journey to explore. It didn’t, and I skipped almost half the book because I just wanted to read the end. We follow Rufus and Matteo, two young boys who learn they will die today. They find a friend in each other and go live their End day together. I thought it would be a beautiful tribute to life, but it ended up being a boring 400 of MMORPG quest-like book. “Oh, I need to go do that”, “okay, now let’s go there”, “done, now let’s go somewhere elses”. I felt it was pointless, and I could not feel any emotion whatsoever towards this book or its characters. I just wanted them to die already.

What do you think you’ll read next?

Paragon is also an e-arc I got ! It deals with a girl who discovers she is marked by an ancient magic, and that she belongs to the Paragon, a mysterious group that wields this magic. The summary talks about ancient gods and stuff like that, so it has the potential to be REALLY amazing ! I definitely hope I’ll be able to read this before the end of the year !

All right ! That’s it for today ! I’ll now go check on some of your own WWW Wednesdays 😉
Thanks for reading !
See you soon for a review !

Love, Jade ❤
