Wrap up

April wrap-up

Hi guys!
As usual at the end of the month, it is time to look back at what was read in that time. In April, I managed to read 9 books, which is fairly rare for me. However, most were read for work, and I will not put them in the list this time. For my personnal reading, I managed to read 3 books, which isn’t too bad all things considered. Here’s what I read in April!

The Last Thing to Burn | Will Dean | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | My review

This was a fantastic read! I got completely caught in this thriller involving human trafficking, letting us in a claustrophobic environment in the company of a farmer keeping a woman captive as his wife. It’s brilliantly written, and tension is present from beginning till the end. You can only be horrified as the plot unfolds. It’s definitely a good recommendation!

Glow Girl | Jennifer Lucic | ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ | RTC

Glow Girl is an absolute whirlwind of emotions. We follow Lilly, a teenager who’s never really been able to find love, but whose crush towards a new guy takes her in a life of partying, drugs, and so much more. As we follow her journey, we witness Lilly’s downards spiraling, from weed to harder drugs, from love, to much more. Her evolution is fascinating, and my eyes were absolutely glued to the words. I couldn’t wait to see when (if?) it would stop. How? Such a rush! I couldn’t get enough.

The Apocalypse Seven | Gene Doucette | ⭐⭐⭐⭐ | RTC

That was a fairly original apocalypse book! I must admit I wasn’t able to put it down. We get seven people, who wake up in a world, where no one seems to be there anymore. There is no power, and everything seems to be ancient. As they each wander around, they realize they are not exactly alone, and end up running into each other. Together, they will try to figure what happened to the world, and why they are still here. It was very entertaining, and each characters was unique, with their own specificity. I was only a bit disappointed by the resolution of all this, but overall, it was very good!

In average, I rated my April reads 4.3⭐, which is the highest rating of the year! I’m so glad most of the books were absolutely captivating, and had me reading like I hadn’t in a few weeks.

I hope your reading month was as lovely as mine ❤
Thank you for reading me,
See you soon,
Jade ❤
