Wrap up

September Wrap-up

Hey guys! September is now over! It’s going super fast! I absolutely did not see the time going by, and it turned out I got more focused on my life than reading lately. I still managed to read 5 books this month, 2 of which were for work. So here are the 3 books I read for myself this month 🙂

The Exctinction Trials | A.G. Riddle |⭐⭐⭐⭐

That was an interesting dystopia that puts us in a world after a strange apocalypse caused by two groups fighting regarding “The Change”, something scientists fought about to know how the human race could do better. Our main characters are now part of The Exctinction Trials, to see which humans are the best suited to restart the human race. It gave me some “Lost” vibes, and I really enjoyed following them through this journey, exploring what’s left behind and trying to understand what happened to the world.

Queen of Hearts | Colleen Oakes | ⭐⭐⭐⭐

I had meant to read this for a long time, and the opportunity came in the form of a galley in French at work. I’m not sure what I expected but it wasn’t really it. I mean, I was not disappointed, but I didn’t think this would be this story. I feel like it skimmed the surface, and didn’t go as deep as it could have. It lacked a little detail for my taste, but I still enjoyed it a lot! Dinah is an interesting character, and her interactions with her step-sister intrigued me a lot. I hope to read more of it in the sequel!

The Next Apocalypse | Chris Begley | ⭐⭐⭐⭐

It seems the apocalypse was a theme for me this month as the third book I read is a non-fiction studying this very phenomenon. The author is an archeologist who puts in perspective what apocalypses are, what really makes a civilization collapse, and analyzes human behavior. It was not really what I expected and the author wrote a lot about himself, but other than that, it was pretty interesting to read!

What have you read this month?
Thanks for reading me!
See you soon,
Jade ❤
