Book talk ~ 5 sequels I probably won’t read

Hi guys! With the new year, I saw many blog posts about bookish resolutions. I often saw people saying they wanted to continue/finish series they started long ago. So I thought about it and realized that I too had started many book series, yet never finished them. But honestly, you know what? I feel like some series I started are not really worth finishing. At least to me! So I thought about the last 2-3 years, and the book series I started then, without finishing them. Here they are!

The Fates Divides is the sequel to Carve the Mark by Veronica Roth. I remember receiving and reading the first book when it was released, but the wait between the books and the fact that the plot wasn’t all that impactful made me feel like it would be kind of useless to read the sequel. I loved Divergent by the same author, but this series didn’t hit the mark for me.

There is so much hype around the Girls of Paper and Fire series that I had to try it. Unfortunately, it was NOT for me and I couldn’t get into it. The romance did not catch my interest, and the rest of the plot was just too basic for me. So, yeah, I don’t think I’ll ever try to read it or Girls of Storm and Shadow.

This one’s gonna be pretty short. I won’t read Daughter of the Siren Queen because I remember reading Daughter of the Pirate King. And not remembering a damn thing about it. I can’t remember the plot or the characters, or anything. So yeah, not interested.

Okay so I know this one isn’t a proper sequel but many refer to it as ACOTAR #4. Still, as much as I liked Prythian and the Inner Circle, I don’t think I can invest myself in A court of Silver Flames and the Nessian center in it. I didn’t really like Nesta and her backstory in ACOTAR, so for me, ACOTAR was concluded with ACOWAR, and that’s fine with me!

Once again this is a series I first received in a book box, that I read out of curiosity, and ended up not feeling the hype around it. I didn’t even enjoy A Curse so Dark and Lonely that much. So I totally missed out on A Heart so Fierce and Broken, and will keep going with my life without reading it.

That’s it for today! Are there some book series that you will never read?

Thanks for reading me!
See you soon,
Love,
Jade ❤

  1. I never picked up Daughter of the Siren Queen. I didn’t like the first one all that much and just couldn’t be bothered with the second, lol.
